Work has recently begun on the latest stage of a new development of dozens of new builds in Cookridge, Leeds. The scheme is stage 2 of an additional 61 new homes by construction company Taylor Wimpey. As part of the planning agreement Taylor Wimpey agreed to contribute over £475,000 to Leeds City Council to improve the local area. The new development is due to be completed in autumn 2020.
Conroy Brook a construction company based in Holmfirth have recently announced the acquisition of a former Doncaster reservoir with the ambition of developing the land into a residential site. The company hope to develop up to 23 new homes. The former Warmsworth site has not been used a number of years now.
It’s not just residential construction, The Ministry of Justice has continued to progress the planning and construction of the new super prison at HMP Full Sutton near York, it’s a big step in the government’s plan to increase prison numbers by 10,000 which is estimated to be costing in the region of £2.5 billion. The prison will home 1440 prisoners and the facility is due to be open in 2024
